Customer had stated that the heat pump had frozen and the electric heaters were not working. The fusible link for each of the 3 heaters was dead preventing any of the electric heat strips from coming on. Need to quote customer a price on replacing the fusible links. System was also 3 lbs low on R-410A which is what was causing it to freeze up. System may need a leak search in the near future.

System was low on R-410A again. Performed leak search but was not able to find anything certain. However the leak definitely appears to be in the outdoor coil, most likely the service valves. There is a chance the leak could be in the outdoor coil itself but was not able to get a hit on the leak detector. Going to give customer a price on replacing the service valves and see if there is any warranty left.

Just learned that the 10 year York warranty is not being honored. I spoke with Charlie’s Heating & Air the day. I purchased the property so that I could have them service it. Having to register as a new homeowner was not mentioned to maintain this #Warranty. Doesn’t feel right!

North Heat pump was showing heavy signs of frost and the thermostat was brining on the electric heat frequently. Went into the programming for the thermostat and made some adjustments. Puron levels appear normal, thermistor is reading correct temperature, and the defrost board goes into defrost when it’s supposed to. Temperature rise is also within normal range. Capacitors for both heat pumps were getting weak. Replaced under parts warranty. Both systems appear to be operating normally at this time.

Condenser fan motor for the downstairs heat pump is making noise. The bearings in it are starting to wear out. Oiled motor and it got a lot quieter. If the sound gets worse or the motor starts to fail, motor will need to be replaced. System is operating normally at this time.
